11 Ways to Treat Your Favorite Single Mom This Valentine's Day

Treating a single mom on Valentine's Day is a wonderful way to show appreciation for her hard work and dedication! Some single moms might want to celebrate the day by themselves (check out this blog post on how a single mom can enjoy V-Day alone), but still consider doing something special - maybe the weekend after or a day or two before.

You can find some fun ideas on how to make her feel like the queen she is below.

Childcare Assistance

Offer to babysit her children for a few hours so she can have some much-needed time to herself. Whether she wants to go out with friends, take a yoga class, or simply relax at home, having someone else take care of the kids for a while can be a valuable gift in itself. A lot of these recommendations below might require some babysitting so mom can have some time to herself or friends, so offering to babysit or pay someone trusted to babysit is an awesome idea.

Put together a DIY spa kit filled with luxurious bath products, scented candles, face masks, and body lotions. This will allow her to enjoy a spa-like experience in the comfort of her own home whenever she needs a little relaxation and rejuvenation.

Even better, make her a kit yourself! This makes things more personal. Some ideas to toss in include my favorite face masks, a full-body moisturizer, a body scrub, an ice roller, and this foot soak.

Personalized Gift

Consider giving her a personalized gift that shows you've put thought into her interests and preferences. This could be a custom piece of jewelry with her children's initials, a photo album filled with cherished memories, or a heartfelt handwritten letter expressing your admiration for her strength and resilience.

Spa Day

If you would rather gift her a whole spa day, and maybe invite yourself along to, there is nothing wrong with getting her a spa gift card! Treat her to a relaxing spa day where she can unwind and pamper herself. Arrange for a massage, facial, or manicure/pedicure session at a local spa. This will give her a much-needed break from her daily responsibilities and allow her to indulge in some self-care.

Plan a special dinner date at her favorite restaurant or cook a delicious meal for her at home. Set the mood with candles, flowers, and soft music to create a romantic atmosphere. Let her sit back and enjoy a delicious meal without having to worry about cooking or cleaning up afterward.

Or, let her have some me time and order her some Uber Eats or GrubHub to be delivered right to her doorstep! (I would love this).

Books and journals, oh my!

Single moms go through a lot. Ensuring her mental health should be a priority not only for the mom but also for her village. Self-help and parenting books can be a huge support source for single moms, and they can help overwhelmed mamas come away with game plans on how to best address their children's needs all while staying sane.

Sign her up for an art class, cooking class, or any other activity she's interested in trying. This will allow her to learn something new and unleash her creativity while having fun in the process.

Virtual Experience

If you're unable to celebrate in person, consider arranging a virtual experience such as a virtual cooking class, wine tasting, or online game night. This will allow you to connect and spend quality time together even if you're miles apart.
